Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr adapts its tram network for the city-centre rebuild
Because of the city-centre rebuild, the rnv is changing routes and stops — and at the same time new low-floor trams are entering service.
The rebuilding of the city centre and the dismantling of the Hochstrasse Nord also affect public transport. In 2026 the Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr (rnv) is adjusting routes and stops in Ludwigshafen's city centre and setting up replacement services. At the same time the company is putting new, barrier-free low-floor trams into operation that link Mannheim and Ludwigshafen across the Rhine. The rnv asks passengers to check for changed routes around Berliner Platz and the Rathaus-Center before setting off. The expansion of the network is intended to make public transport in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region more attractive.
